Quick Answers
Common questions before you contact us
What's the difference between moles and gophers?
Moles create raised surface ridges (feeding tunnels) and volcano-shaped mounds. They eat insects and worms โ NOT plants. Gophers create fan-shaped mounds and eat plant roots and vegetation. Moles don't eat plants (root damage is incidental from tunneling), while gophers actively eat them. Treatment strategies differ significantly.
How effective is mole trapping?
Professional-grade traps placed in active tunnels are 90%+ effective. We identify active tunnels (not abandoned ones), set traps properly, and check every 24-48 hours. Most moles are caught within 2 days. DIY traps fail most often due to poor tunnel identification and incorrect placement.
What does mole control cost?
Per-mole trapping: $100-$200 (often includes first mole). Monthly lawn management: $150-$350 depending on property size. Grub treatment: $200-$500 per application. Lawn restoration is quoted based on damage extent. Free property walk-through and estimate.
How many moles are in my yard?
Moles are territorial. A typical residential lawn hosts 1-3 moles. The vast network of tunnels is often from a single animal. Areas of 1+ acres may have 3-5 moles. We map the tunnel system to determine how many moles are active.
Do castor oil and other home remedies work?
Castor oil-based repellents may provide temporary (2-4 week) mole displacement to a neighbor's yard, but they don't solve the problem. Moles often return. The only reliable, long-term solution is professional trapping combined with food source management (grub control).
